The Old Inn Restaurant Newsletter

January 2010

It's been a crazy few months working hard to get the restaurant to where it is, but we've finally got there. We would like to say a big thank you to all the locals for their continued support; they've made the whole thing so much easier.

So the paint is on the walls the wine is in the bottles and the charcoal oven is lit, all of us are looking forward to an exciting year ahead.

Clinger Farm - view site

We now have our very own Clinger Farm Cider in the fridge; a fantastic accompaniment to our chops. We have also got the Clinger Farm pear and apple juices in if you want a refreshing change. You don't get much more local than this.

Back at Clinger Farm they are busy working on establishing a vegetable patch which will supply the pub with most of its vegetable needs.

The Old Inn Edition

We have teamed up with our friends at Cheddar Ales to produce an exclusive version of their popular Dark Porter. The Old Inn Edition is brewed to our specification giving it a unique flavour, it goes down a treat with our steaks.

Thanks

We would like to say a big thank you to the amazing job our builders have done over the last few months. Lots of long hours put in to get us up and running before Christmas. The Old Inn is looking great.

Events

5th Feb

Celebrity chef and fish guru Mitch Tonks joins

our wine expert Tim McLaughlin-Green.

Come and join us at our first event of the year, where we will treat you to a set menu; prepared by Mitch and our two chef’s Ben & Ty. Tim will be on hand to help you learn how to put wines with different foods and taste some beautiful wines. Tim and Mitch will stick around to answer some of your questions . Events>

23rd & 25th Jan

Burns Night

We'll be celebrating the poet Robert Burns on the 23rd & 25th January, so you will have two chances to sample a special menu for Burns night; Haggis and other tasty treats or if you're not feeling brave the original Old Inn menu will still be available. Events>

14th Feb

Valentines Night

We're getting loved up at The Old Inn, our head chef Ben will be preparing a selection of dishes ideal for sharing, served in the beautifully low lit Old Stables Restaurant. Events>

Food

Our food is cooked over charcoal, locking in all the amazing juices and flavours and giving that great charred texture. Combined with the best cuts of meat and fish from Brixham, it doesn't get much better than this. Check out our menu here
